I am trying to run a simple PV calculation as a test with ArchSim, but I am running into problems with the reading/writing of the files. I have been using the PV setup in the ArchSim example grasshopper file, but when I run the PV Simulation node the “Load CSV” node returns an error -
“Object Reference not set to instance of an object”
I have verified that the .epw file is linked. The .idf file is also being written to the correct folder on the desktop.
The error given in the Rhino command prompt reads:
“RunEnergyPlus: The system cannot find the file specified “C:\Users\Nate\Desktop\test\PV1″ “C:\Users\Nate\Desktop\test\PV1″ idf “C:\Users\Nate\Documents\DSM Research\Weather Films DSM TMY3\USA_IA_Des.Moines.725460_TMY2.epw” EP N nolimit N Y 0 N
File does not exist C:\Users\Nate\Desktop\test/PV1.csv
File does not exist C:\Users\Nate\Desktop\test/PV1.csv”
Can anyone lend a hand?

It looks like you are using the wrong component to pull the results. Use the colored panels in the PV tab to load them. The one you are using is for the building simulation.
Hope I could help,

When I click the Photovoltaic tab, I am given the “Load CSV” node that is shown in my original screenshot. Should I be using something else?
In the ArchSim documentation, the Zone Results node has four inputs, but in the current version there is only three. Am I supposed to be connecting the “panels” output of the PV simulation node to something?
Thank you for your help,

Hi Nate – could you send me your file? It seems this is an unknown issue.March 2, 2017 at 10:12 pm #1522
I have the same problem with Loading the result file for PVs. Did you find the reason? Does it have to do with the version of Rhino/Grasshopper that I’m using? I had to update because your Urban Daylighting plug in wasn’t working with my previous Rhino? Please let me know.March 23, 2017 at 9:43 pm #1536
